Seek Foreign Investman , the Government of Indonesia Simplifies Permits Foreign Workers

JAKARTA - The government will provide the ease of obtaining visas for foreign workers who made a brief visit to Indonesia to take care of the realization of the investment.

Labor Minister Hanif Dhakiri said regulatory simplification related work visa in Indonesia would be made to increase foreign investment in Indonesia. Ease will also minimize the misuse of tourist visa to a work visa.

"All the regulations related to the investment easy, we simplify including foreign employment," he said at his office, 

Hanif explained Kemenaker issue two types of licenses related to foreign workers, the planned use of foreign labor (RPTKA) and permits hire foreign workers (IMTA). One of two such licenses should be bagged companies who want to hire foreign workers in Indonesia.

After the meeting chaired by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly said travel visas are often abused by foreign workers.

"Many of the violations, because they think we work permit difficult. They objected to that. So they entered as a tourist and work, it is inappropriate," he said.

Yasonna encourage investors drafting work that needs foreign workers can be identified for the process of issuing visas. This is emphasized in order to avoid Yasonna cat and mouse with immigration authorities.

Kemenkumham also promises ease of obtaining a visa and RPTKA and IMTA with integrated one-stop service system (OSS) in the Investment Coordinating Board

"We do need to invest, if permissions are not synchronized, the strangers it's difficult to consider our bureaucracy. We already have a BKPM with permission of the roof, so now all the permits of foreign workers should be eased," said Yasonna.

Meanwhile, Industry Minister Saleh Husen said during a visit to Japan, Sakura Foreign businessmen complain about the complexity of the work permits of foreign workers in Indonesia. Even time for a work visa called up to 2-3 months, when the work is done only take 2-3 days.
